Ouch. Hey Joseph, you still going for a BDS Pipebomb deck. Make a wicked slider.

6 broken arms (2 from sister over oilling urethane wheels)
3 broken ribs
concussion once (bombing a hill and jumping the bonnet of a Jaguar landing on mellon)
sprainned ankle 2 times this year
nearly severed achilles tendon when bailling at Bondi (Ramp) and board landed tail first on back of ankle severing 70% of tendon (4 week recovery)

road maps are all part of the initiation to our obsession

Ive had my share. wear pads and help fund research into soft concrete

hey scott i already bought it and i’m getting a pocket pistol off of braden as soon as i get my new pipebomb! oh yeah my rib is feeling better and i’m ready to do some riding. by the way scott i’ll ring you later on but me and a few mates are thinking about hitting woolongong early saturday and returning reasonabley early. carving, sliding bombing and luging so i’ll ring you later to see if your keen. i also want to find a remote hill for slalom. a real hill. bike paths are fun and all but i want to try something quicker.

aaaah injuries - I have now been struck down by the dreaded scourge! I came a gutsa on Friday night, not pulling backside 900’s or doing 20 stair ollies, but in the most innocuous of circumstances. I rolled up the road to buy some cigs, and on the way home, not 2 doors from home, my board discovered a large crack in the footpath and ejected me forthwith. After a short flight, I landed like a sack of (ahem) wet cement with my left hand taking the brunt of impact with the cold, unyeilding cement…

Anyways, after a)skating on Saturday b)swimming on sunday, it finally seeped through my rather ossified brain to see the medical specialists, who gave me the good news - busted a bone in my little finger! Mucho bruising etc also…so rather than court disaster again, I best wait until my rather overdue child is born (oh and the bruising/swelling goes down) before taking once more to the concrete waves of the City of Sydney. Wont stop me going to the RSL on Wednesday though! Well as long as the young bloke doesnt decide to arrive

Hey Skatexec.Speaking of injuries, hows your guts after Riverwood on Sunday. You seemed to be going down-hill fast(no pun intended)when you left.

You better find a technical name for broken pinky Col so you don’t sound like a girl

Cheers Clay - musta been a muscle strain coz while I can still feel it (and will test it soon) the secret chinese linament has settled it down a lot. Shit it was sore though

Spoke too soon on the gut injury. Has anyone ever had a hernia? I’ve got an abdominal muscle with a knot in it like a fist! Hope that’s not what the bastard is

Did it running out of a 50:50 gone wrong and felt the muscle go ‘strrrretch’ but no ‘twang’. Like if you bent over backwards and extended your stomach muscles.

Guess it’s just a strain - heat pack and chinese linament, she’ll be right.

does it hurt if you cough?
maybe you should check out a Doctor.

Hernia’s arent good. ON the bright side you could get into film James and all the lads skating

bump

adductor tear. sorry not such a good shot. this is the bruising coming from the inside out

Whoa dude - looks nasty…

Hope your up and running soon!

if its a hernia you should have a lump in your sac. (sounds horrible doesnt it) torn abductor is good/bad rest for 2 weeks check out the physio and ask the misses to rub some ointment into it (that would be the good bit  )

how did you do it?

no relation to the older posts in this thread. dropped in on the big ramp at the bush. was so concerned with getting the nose down i over did it and squirred on the flat and bailed. didn’t seem like much but injury was already there - just finished the job

two visits to the physio and feeling better. next weekend should be good to go.

when’s the 'scope mosu?

Monday Bloody Monday.
if im lucky its just some stitchs in the minescus (spelling??)

Good luck mate.

Hope it goes well today Mosu. If it is just meniscus repair that’d be cool as you’d be back in action pretty quickly. It’s generally when there’s ligament damage/repair work that it can take a while to rehab.

10 days after my ACL recon and I’m walking around without crutches (since day 6) and no real pain… even though there’s a fair way to go in getting strength back, I already feel like it’s been a great decision to get it done.

Well I saw my knee Doctor Professor Neil today and it was good news/bad news.
Good News He is a professor
Bad news Professors earn more than Doctors and he has twice the staff of other knee Doctors
Good News He likes skateboarding, Rock Climbing and all other forms of sport (not one of those Doctors who tut tuts you soon as you admit your injury was caused by Skateboarding)
Bad News he likes skateboarding etc cause it paid for his Porsche

After a brief examination and checking the xray the good Professor was some how able to stick a finger under my knee cap and make me scream (Damm Im glad he isnt a proctologist). He wants me to get a MRI of my Knee cause his mate the radiologist is still paying for his porsche and cause I obviously dont need $500.

Apparently I have done one of 2 things.
1)snapped ACL which reattached itself before snapping again on the Saturday night of the SOS Jam. this requires surgery to correct and 6 weeks recovery time
2) damaged meniscus, which requires key hole surgery and a week to recover.

I’ll find out more this thursday. Hope its option 2 cause then I can be rolling again soon

Fingers crossed for you mate!

skatexec and mosu…GET WELL SOON…

Looks and sounds painful.

If the good old professer was a skater, imagine the one hell of a collection he would have.

Here’s hoping it’s just the meniscus, Mosu.

Mind you I’m a bit sceptical on your doc’s recovery time estimates… how can he say you’ll be fine in 6 weeks after an ACL reconstruction (what I’ve had)? The standard is that it’s more like 4-6 months before you’re ready for pivot-based activity. And it’s actually the 6-12 week post op period that’s the most dangerous in terms of re-tearing it. Even the one week off after a “straight” arthroscopy is pretty amazing.

Maybe I should have got me one of them Porsche-driving professor cutters  I think my bloke is just getting by with a couple of Mercs and a private plane…

Good luck with Thursday’s MRI!

Good luck with the knee mate - hope you are back up rolling and climbing soon. Guess you will have to give that new camera of yours a workout till then eh?
